Hippy goes haute this AW16 with the return of the 1970s trend.

From free-spirited folk to retro glamour, the 70’s trend is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. With suede over-the-knee boots and tassel trimmed ankle boots, this season brings a myriad of retro bohemian silhouettes to suit every style. When it comes to the 70’s trend you can be as bold or as subtle as you like – so if you haven’t jumped on the 70’s bandwagon yet, now is the perfect opportunity.

cecil_02

Happy Birthday to the man that made it all possible! Our founder, Cecil Bank, turned 102 years old last week.

From humble beginnings, Cecil Bank opened his first shoe store in Wellington in 1938. His primary customers were soldiers returning home from the Second World War. Bank Shoes on High Street was the first store in New Zealand to x-ray customers feet, ensuring a flawless fit to all his loyal customers. With 75 years in the shoe trade and 17 stores under the Banks Group name, Cecil devoted himself to building a chain of thriving footwear stores.

Happy Birthday Cecil Bank!

One shoe, endless ways to wear – Miss Sofie Matilda

If we had to pick one of our absolute favourite heels of the season, it would have to be the Miss Sofie Matilda block heel. This must-have shoe has an on-trend chunky block heel and buttery leather upper making it one of the comfiest (and totally chic) heels of this season. We especially love the monochrome colour scheme with contrast white detailing and the minimal buckle closure. Its incredibly unique and versatile silhouette adds sophistication to casual outfits and subtle edginess to feminine dresses.

Four of our Shoe Connection girls show us how they’d style the Miss Sofie Matilda heel.Read More »
